Wealth Management Firm Energizes Subscription Services Platform

Our client, a leading wealth management firm, delivers timely financial research, news, and educational services to their clients and subscribers. Their goals are to broaden the financial knowledge of the investing public and introduce new investors to their approach to financial markets. The firm was interested in evolving the platform by streamlining customer interaction processes, generating more straightforward user experiences, and providing members with enhanced features, such as subscriber-only podcasts and streaming services. The wealth management firm engaged with Shimshock Group to make these changes become a reality.

After analyzing the existing platform and gaining knowledge of the key points of systems integration, our Shimshock Group team developed a strategic implementation plan. The plan would shift the client's existing subscription system from a standalone solution into a model which integrates seamlessly with existing client software products. The approach included a significant data mapping and migration effort of subscribers, and migration of content into data structures which would best fit our client's future needs. Our team also implemented a new purchasing and payments platform, leveraging best-fit technologies to drive revenue generation, and revised the platform's sales funnels to ensure visitors can quickly move through the purchasing process. As well, a new membership renewal system was developed, allowing users to automatically renew and review their subscriptions from within the platform.

Another key component of our work was building an enhanced media distribution solution through the implementation of custom subscriber feeds. Customers who use podcast apps and streaming services are able to subscribe to content at the click of a button, and immediately receive our client's media content as soon as it becomes available. A marketing strategy was designed and implemented to build awareness of the new features, and help subscribers to become knowledgeable of the easy steps to gain access to content on the go.

Simultaneous to our systems integration efforts, our technical infrastructure engineers strengthened the platform's user experience and stability through the implementation of advanced caching, performance tuning, and high availability strategies. Since the changes have been in place, the client's platform has had excellent responsiveness with no outages or downtime. Also, a long-term performance strategy checklist was developed for the client. The concepts identified in the list can be pursued as the platform's needs change and interest increases, ultimately allowing for a staged approach.

The changes made to the client's services platform has led to strong subscriber retention, a more streamlined experience for both customers and staff, and a significant reduction in service issues. Our work also provides a solid foundation for allowing the wealth management firm to continue to enhance and extend features in the future.
